SecondAmS: Supernumerary Robotic Arms for Installation and Maintenance Tasks

• Description:

The SeconDArmS project arises from the need to eliminate or reduce musculoskeletal disorders (MSD) caused by the manual movement of heavy loads, poor posture and the repetition of movements associated with the installation and maintenance of industrial facilities. The SeconDArmS project proposes the development of second wearable robotic arms supported by a passive exoskeleton-type structure for the lower limbs to be used in the workplace and an advanced human-machine interface system based on Augmented Reality techniques. The human-machine interface will have cognitive capabilities that allow it to be proactive based on the analysis of the context and the environment.
